Riders Against Deviltry

In the first days of the world…

…when the gods had not yet sealed destinies on black stone tablets now buried at the earth's foundation, when they had not yet departed to their heavenly halls, leaving empty temples and silent idols behind; in those days of legend did KARU-EBISH, the Demon Wolf, whose hunger would engulf all creation, wreak havoc on the Realms of Man.

MALYA-E-WAIDI, fairest of all gods, bestowed her most skillful warriors with her divine light: wind was their steed, and lightning was their spears. She set them upon Karu-ebish, binding him to them with a powerful spell. Thus was the Demon Wolf driven away by the storm of the HEAVENLY HUNT, for all eternity.

A violent storm ravages the town of Mortefin and its surroundings. In addition to the violent winds and rain, flash floods, uprooted trees and destroyed buildings, one can always hear the distant thunder of hooves, howling of dogs, and the sounding of a sinister horn.

Riders Against Deviltry is a system-agnostic adventure frame themed around the myth of the Wild Hunt — with a twist. In it, you will find three factions at odd with each other, and a few locations with many opportunities for exploration and role-play.

Although they are not presented with stats, most of the non-player characters of this adventure are implied to be much too strong for the PCs to fight. Players will be encouraged to negotiate and play them against each other to resolve the situation.
